Yamanobe no Michi

Yamanobe no Michi (Yamanobe Road)

It is said that Yamanobe no Michi is the oldest of all roads in history. Especially a road from Sakurai station to Tenri station is popular as a hiking course. There are many stone monuments inscribed with poems, walking around to see them is one of the pleasures of Yamanobe no Michi.

Isonokami Jingu shrine is one of the oldest shrines in Japan and written in Kojiki and Nihon Shoki. The shrine has been known for having the gods of health and longevity, healing illness, avoiding misfortune and inviting good luck, and accomplishment of all. In the shrine, visitors can see free life of chickens as the messenger of the god.
